Size small barrette clasp is good for children's hair, fine hair, and can also be used as decoration in thicker hair by bringing together a wing section to the side or the back. The manufactures marketing size is described above, but the actual spacing between the Hinge and the Pinch Clip is 1.75" or 4.5cm.

Size medium barrette clasp is good for children's hair, a larger section of fine hair, and can be used as decoration in thicker hair by bringing together a section of hair. The manufactures marketing size is described above, but the actual spacing between the Hinge and the Pinch Clip is 2 1/8" or 5.5cm.

Large (8cm or 3.5"):
Size large barrette clasp is the best selling and most common hair barrette size as it fits most hair types, styles and thicknesses. It is great in children's hair (age 5 to 11). It can also be used to partially pull back or fully pull back one's hair. The manufactures marketing size is described above, but the actual spacing between the Hinge and the Pinch Clip is 2.5" or 6.4cm.

Extra Large (10.0cm or 4"):
Size Extra Large barrette clasp is for thicker hair and it the largest size available on the market. And sometimes this hair barrettes size is not big enough. The manufactures marketing size is described above, but the actual spacing between the Hinge and the Pinch Clip is 3.0" or 7.6cm
