Whale Tail Splash
Humpback whales can be seen breaching off the coast of Newfoundland during the summer months.
The Grand Banks, where the cold Labrador Current meets the warm Gulf Stream, is one of the
world's great marine breeding grounds. This provides the humpback whales with a great menu: krill,
capelin and other humpback whale delicacies. The whales can be observed from shore splashing about
as they feed.

, so I thought it was appropriate to design a cod fish first.

Puffin Brooch
The Atlantic Puffin was crowned the official bird of the province of Newfoundland and Labrador
in 1992. They are relatives of the Auk family and use their wings to propel and steer
themselves while underwater in search of small fish.
